Honoured for EKcellence

- Andrea O’Neill

A cafe and fashion retailer were top of the shops at EK East Kilbride’s mystery shopper awards.

Yours Clothing and Cafe Romana were recognised for their top-class customer service.

Both stores achieved a sensational 100 per cent in the EKcellence programme, with the Italian cafe in Princes Square picking up the award for April and the Plaza fashion outlet securing the prize for May.

Reece Evans from Cafe Romana was thrilled to accept the award, saying: “We have built up a loyal group of customers since we opened and that is down to a combination of top-quality food and great customer service. This award is brilliant news and a fantastic endorsement of the team’s efforts.”

Tracey Conner, manager at Yours Clothing, said: “It is a real team effort and I am delighted that the hard work that each staff member puts in day in and day out has been recognised with an EKcellence Award. “Everyone is over the moon.” The EKcellence Awards saw a number of other stores recognised for superb customer service.

French Connection, McDonalds, Top marks The Hay Stook and Cards and Gifts all achieved exceptional scores in the awards programme.

Ian McLelland, centre director at EK East Kilbride, said: “Our stores have certainly impressed on the customer service front over the past few months, with six outlets achieving top marks.

“This is a fantastic result and my congratulations go to everyone involved at each store.”
