CHRIS ERSKINE, Midfielder, 29, Lindsayfield Premiership – Partick Thistle Thistle between 2009-13 and came back on loan from United in 2014, believes the Jags are capable of a top six finish after holding on to a number of key players.
Kris Doolan, Stuart Bannigan, Steven Lawless and Abdul Osman all committed themselves to the club again, while boss Alan Archibald signed the like of Ziggy Gordon, David Syme, Ade Azeez and Danny Devine.
“We’ve strengthened and we’ve managed to keep the mainstays from last season, so there’s a chance for us to do well,” said Erskine.
“The main focus is to make sure we get ourselves safe first and go from there.
“You are looking at Celtic, Aberdeen, Hearts and Rangers - not necessarily in that order - being the top four teams, so there’s not a lot of room after that to make the top six.
“However, I wouldn’t say there’s a lot between the rest of the teams in the league and it will come down to consistency.”
