New classes at Arts Centre
East Kilbride Arts Centre will be the venue for a double helping of new arts classes this summer.
Dance and dressmaking are the order of the day for the new courses which kick off this month.
Young at Heart Dance Classes are aimed exclusively at those aged 50+ keen on improving fitness, balance and co-ordination, whilst also offering a fantastic workout for the brain.
Participants are welcome to come go along to the new sessions, starting on August 15 (11am-noon) and take each one at their own pace.
No previous dance experience is needed.
The first term runs for eight weeks, through until October 10 and costs £37.20 or £28 concession.
Term two runs from October 24-November 21; term three from January 9 – March 27 and term four from April 17 -June 19 .
Meanwhile, for those who prefer to express themselves through craft, a new dressmaking class running from September could be‘sew’ right for you.
The two-hour sessions are aimed at those aged 18+ with the first term starting on Tuesday, September 6 (1-3pm) for six weeks and costing £58.80/£43.20 concession.
Subsequent terms run from November right through until June 2017, each lasting for either five or six weeks.
Classes will take participants through the basics of reading a pattern, laying out and cutting fabric and other skills such as lengthening, shortening and attaching buttons, zips and hems.
