A BIG YEE HA FOR LITTLE RANCHERS!
The Wild West came to St Leonards last week when the Saddle Ridge Ranch moseyed into town.
Claremont Parish Church saw children from all over the area being transported from the west of Scotland to the Wild West of America.
The children played games, wore cowboy hats, had lunch, and even tried their best at wrangling a cow…a pantomime cow that is.
Over 50 children went along as they spent the week singing songs and taking part in lots of fun activities.
The children and parents also enjoyed a barbecue and barn dance on Saturday night, where all those attending learned some new dances and had delicious food.
Parents also got the chance to socialise and got to meet some members of the church that they may not have known previously.
The holiday club was a huge success according to Children and Young Families’ worker Zachary Stich.
He said: “This week has been fantastic, and it’s all because of our volunteers.
“After I got back from Africa I didn’t know if we would have enough time to pull this off, but all of our volunteers worked extra hard to make this holiday club a big success.”
The success of this year’s club has Zach already thinking and planning next year’s club.
The fun for children at Claremont isn’t just during the week of holiday club, however, as starting on August 24, their weekly kids club, Kidzone, will begin at 6pm.
