Fundraiser for kids’ hospice association
‘Colours and Chaos’ exhibition in Strathaven
A Strathaven artist is hoping to help youngsters after being inspired by the work of his wife.
Kris McKinnon will host the ‘Colours and Chaos’ exhibition on Sunday, September 4, at the office block next to the Town Mill. The event will raise money for CHAS (Children’s Hospice Association Scotland).
Kris, who has also written and illustrated his own children’s books, decided to raise money for the charity following his wife Hazel’s work with children with learning difficulties. The free event will run from 10am until 5pm. Kris told the News that he was looking forward to being able to help the charity with his latest exhibition.
“My wife and my sister work with disadvantaged and additional support needs children so helping young people to have a chance in life is important to us as a family.
“I hope to raise as much as possible for the charity.
“I am still pursuing local businesses for raffle prize donations and will also be raffling some of my work − paintings and books.
“If any local businesses wish to donate a raffle prize please get in touch.
“I hope everyone can come along and help raise money for such a great cause.”
