Loan signing will boost EK’s season

-

Billy Campbell reckons the loan signing of striker Craig Hastings can help East Kilbride Thistle find their shooting boots this season.

The Jags boss has managed to lure the 28-year-old to the Showpark to link up with his brother William and believes his arrival give the Jags a big threat up front for their remaining League Cup section matches and the league season ahead.

Hastings has joined on an initial deal until Christmas and Campbell told the News: “We’re delighted to bring someone of Craig quality into the side.

“He has had a lot of great experience with East Kilbride over the past two seasons and he will get us scoring more goals this season.

“Craig is a fantastic finisher and having his brother here alongside him I’m sure he’ll settle in well.

“After Saturday’s result I’m looking for the boys to step up another level against Vale of Clyde.

“We created a lot of chances on Saturday and hopefully Craig can help us start finding the net.”

Hastings was one of six new players to feature for Thistle in Saturday’s defeat to Cambuslang Rangers and Campbell knows his side is still very much a work in progress just over a week ahead of the new league campaign.

He added:“With every session and every game we are getting that bit better, but it’s still going to take a bit of time for all the new players to settle in.”
