Warming thoughts as autumn days approach

-

As we prepare to pack away our swimsuits, shorts and floaty dresses, now is the perfect time to think about what we want to fill our wardrobe with this autumn/winter.

The great thing about the new seasons ahead is the fact it’s all about reviving pieces we already own with just a few additions and tweaks to make our look stand out.

Puffa jackets are back. Yes, the jackets that make you feel as if you’ve not stepped out from under your duvet were all the rage on the catwalks with the tailored lines of the military look also making a comeback.

For all of us who fear a skinny jean, we can sigh with relief because wide legged trousers are a key look this season. Sequins are always big at this time of year, and this year is no exception, with indulgent velvet also taking centre stage, and chunky, utility style boots offering something practical as well as trendy.

But if you aren’t able to add any big, new pieces to your wardrobe then a pair of new earrings are a must. Make sure they are big and bold, as they are the ultimate way to dress up an outfit.

With dozens of fashion retailers in EK East Kilbride there really is nowhere better to shop to update your look, and best of all you could win a £50 EK gift card to help spread the cost in our competition.

This week’s winner who can look forward to a great spending spree is Michael McNeill, from The Murray.

For your chance to pick up a fabulous £50 gift card, all you have to do is fill in the voucher below with your name address and telephone number and send it to: Gift Voucher Competition, East Kilbride News, One Central Quay, Glasgow, G3 8DA, by noon on Monday. Good luck!
