With only two days to go till Miss Scotland 2016 takes her crown, East Kilbride stunner Celine Robertson is hoping her beauty queen dream will come true.

Since the 19-year-old Stewartfield model was announced as a finalist in the competition she has already achieved an incredible goal running a massive 50 kilometres in aid of her chosen charity Diabetes UK.

A former ice skating champion for East Kilbride, Celine is no stranger to a challenge and has more than doubled her fundraising target, collecting over £2000 in donations.

She told the News: “Being a Miss Scotland finalist for 2016 has given me a fantastic opportunity and platform to raise awareness for my chosen charity.

“Diabetes UK is a charity which is very close to my heart. My boyfriend was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 10 and my aunt has recently been diagnosed with type 2.

“Their stories really inspired me to raise money for such a worthy cause.”

Celine raised a whopping £900 hosting a beauty night at her home and over the last few weeks has pounded the streets of East Kilbride with support from family members to reach her 50km running goal.

She said: “Having a healthy and balanced lifestyle is extremely important to me growing up as a competitive figure skater and dancer.

“Therefore I set myself a physically demanding challenge to run 50km before the Miss Scotland final.

“This has been extremely tough and has required a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment. However, knowing that I am raising money for such an outstanding charity that helps to care mentally and physically for people suffering with diabetes makes me very proud.

“I hope to inspire people across the world to exercise on a regular basis and look after their health.

“I would like to thank my friends, family and members of the public who have supported my Miss Scotland journey and kindly donated to my chosen charity.

“Your support means the world to the charity and myself.”

Celine, who models for Glasgow agency Superior Model Management and works in retail, will compete in the grand final in the city’s Radisson Blu Hotel this Friday.

The former Calderglen High pupil, who followed in her model sister Sophie’s footsteps to pursue a career in the industry, beat off stiff competition from hundreds of hopefuls to make the final 13. She did it
