Two groups are joining in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care. Staff at Whitemoss Dental Practice will hold a coffee morning on Saturday, October 1, from 11am until 1pm.

Last year the surgery raised more than £400 for the charity and they hope to make this year’s event even more of a success.

The Old Parish Church in the Village hold their event tomorrow (Thursday) from 10am-noon with refreshmen­ts and a raffle prizes.

St John’s Ladies Choir will give a concert in the church on Friday, October 14, at 7pm for 7.30pm. Tickets are priced £5 or pay on the door. Contact Helen Stevenson. Lanarkshir­e Epilepsy Support Group will hold their annual general meeting tomorrow (Thursday) in Wishaw General Hospital from 6.30-8.30pm.

The group provides a support network for people with epilepsy, their families, friends and carers.

The meeting is in syndicate room 3 in the hospital’s training department for a report on projects, finances, activities over the last year and plans for the year to come.

For the last ten months Olympia Ice Figure Skating Club have been forced to train at rinks up and down the country while East Kilbride Ice Rink undergoes refurbishm­ent.

Despite having to regularly split members up and the club’s four coaches having to negotiate ice time all over Scotland, the girls’ hard work, commitment and steely determinat­ion to succeed have paid off with some phenomenal results.
