The owners of an East Kilbride garage have once again shown their support for Kilbryde Hospice.

The McKinnon Masters is an annual event held by familyowned McKinnon Auto & Tyres and has raised thousands of pounds for various charities over the years.

This year’s event, held at Haggs Castle with the support of club professional Campbell Elliott, was well attended and supported by local companies including Ferrari Packaging and Subcool Air Conditioning as well as local ex-professional footballers Ally McCoist and Robert McKinnon, who is also a director of the garage.

The golf day raised the grand total of £4100 and the family presented Kilbryde Hospice with £2300 as well as making donations to St Margaret’s Hospice and REACH Lanarkshire.

Brothers Steven and Robert McKinnon, along with sister Anne, first decided to support Kilbryde Hospice following their late mum Kate’s desire to volunteer at Kilbryde Hospice.

The fantastic sum raised at the golf event complements a range of continuous support provided to Kilbryde Hospice by the East Kilbride family.

The garage provides ongoing maintenance for the hospice vehicles, allowing Kilbryde Hospice to provide patient transport throughout Lanarkshire and Steven recently personally raised £2000 running the Glasgow Men’s 10k.

Kilbryde Hospice, in the grounds of Hairmyres Hospital, offers day services and drop-in throughout the week, with a view to opening the in-patient facility in the near future offering specialist palliative care to those affected by a life limiting illness.
