Singer set to launch debut track
High hopes for EK gig
An East Kilbride singer-songwriter is looking to launch his musical career with the release of his debut track.
Michael Timmons from Calderwood has released his debut single Hold On Sea after spending time in Lanarkshire studio Gargleblast.
He created the track with the help of wellreleased known Scottish producer Andy Miller, who has also worked with Mogwai and Arab Strap.
Michael describes his sound as “beautiful fragile music” with “narrative driven lyrics”
Despite moving to Glasgow recently, Michael hopes to play a hometown show in the near future.
“I grew up in Calderwood, Deveron Road, and my parents still stay there, and my sister is up in Stewartfeild.
“I’ve moved out now into the town but I’m planning to hold an East Kilbride show in November with me and a few other local acts.”
Michael is also set for a busy end to the year with festival slots and gigs across the country planned, as well as putting the finishing touches to his first album.
“I am playing Edinburgh, Oxjam Takeover on October 15 in Brewdog, then in Perth at the Green Room on the 20th, and I’m still confirming a Glasgow gig for the end of the month or start of November.
“I’ve also recorded a full album with Gargleblast and the plan is for it to be early next year.”
