BSC Glasgow U20s .... 1 East Kilbride U20s .... 2

East Kilbride FC’s under-20s continued their 100 per cent start to the league season with a hard fought 2-1 win over BSC Glasgow on Friday night.

Liam Craig’s first-half wonder strike was cancelled out by a Hussain Mansoor penalty before skipper Fraser Robertson won it for the visitors at Scotstoun.

The extremely narrow pitch did not help Kilby but they settled well and took the lead after 25 minutes.

Robertson and Jones combined to set up Craig, who found the top corner of the net with a stunning volley from 25 yards. Robertson then went close but half-time arrived with EK holding a narrow lead.

Michael Jones had a chance to double the lead on the hour but his shot was smothered by BSC keeper Barr.

Kilby would rue the missed chances as BSC equalised moments later when Hussain Mansoor converted from the spot after Lee Davidson had fouled Alan Murray in the box.

Undeterred by the setback, EK regrouped and regained the lead ten minutes later when Anton McGuigan beat two players on the left to set up Robertson, who smashed the ball high into the net at the far post.

BSC were reduced to ten men after John Stewart was dismissed and Michael Jones had the chance to kill the game off 10 minutes from time but his penalty was saved by Barr after Liam Craig had been fouled.

Kilby held out and remain top of the table.
