Kids are in for a treat this festive season with the opening of a new soft play at EK East Kilbride.

The two-storey play area, which is the latest addition to the centre’s new leisure hub, will feature a network of tunnels, slides, mats, climbing frames and ball pits, along with a new cafe.

The Hub is set to take its place as one of the region’s top leisure destinations when it opens its doors before Christmas.

The family-focused facilities will include 11 restaurants and cafes alongside a climbing wall, Hiride aerial adventure course and nine-screen Odeon cinema.

Suspended 50 feet above the centre’s newly refurbished ice rink, the Hiride will give thrillseekers a bird’s eye view of the multi-million pound development.

Situated behind The Hub’s eight-metre climbing wall, the new two-storey soft play can cater for up to 40 children aged 2-12, with specially created areas and activities ensuring that there is something to keep every age group entertained.

While the kids enjoy their adventures, parents and carers can take a breather in the spacious cafe.

Centre director Ian McLelland said: “The Hub has been designed to provide a top-quality leisure experience for every age group and that includes the youngest members of the family too.

“The soft play has been carefully designed to ensure that it provides both a unique and stimulating range of activities for our young visitors and a relaxing place for parents to chill out for a little while.

“It is a great facility and a welcome addition to The Hub.”
