Guild The Guild, who meet every Monday at 2pm in the Reid Hall, will welcome Marion Dickie as their guest speaker on October 17. Marion will be speaking about South Africa.

Guests are welcome.

Heritage Carmunnock Heritage Society will host a St Andrew’s Night dinner on Friday, November 25. The evening will consist of a three-course meal with wine. Entertainm­ent will be provided. This will be the society’s annual fundraiser. Tickets, priced £15, are available from the secretary on 644 3166.

Toddlers The toddlers group meet every Tuesday in the Clason Hall from 9.30-11am.

Art Carmunnock and District Horticultu­ral Society will host a Floral Art Evening with Enid Reid, on Thursday, November 3, at 7pm in the Castlemilk Hall. Enid will be making a welcome return to the village, and her display will begin at 7.30pm, after you have enjoyed a welcoming glass of wine with shortbread, which is included in the price of your ticket. These are priced at £6 each, and are available from John on 644 1215 or Helga 644 1452 or any committee member.

Poppy Scotland The Royal British Legion has announced that there will be no door-to-door collection in the village this year. However, the usual collection boxes will be placed in all the local businesses by the Rotary Clubs of East Kilbride and East Kilbride Kittoch. Please give generously.
