Top marks for EK design team

-

A marketing design team in East Kilbride were named as finalists at the only UK awards ceremony for in-house design projects.

The team’s efforts in creating a corporate brand for Scottish Enterprise Technology Park-based software firm Ideagen – including a new company logo and individual branding for each software product – were nominated for the Best Internal Rebrand award at the Make Your Words Work In-House Design Awards.

Ideagen’s project was shortlisted alongside applications from fellow organisations such as Savills, a leading commercial and residential real-estate service, and the NSPCC’s Childline at the event, which was held in London on Thursday, November 3.

However, despite a strong entry, the local team narrowly missed out on the award which was won by NSPCC for its rebranding of Childline.

Judge Sarah Ellis Jones, Creative design and UK consultant at Vitamin T, gave Ideagen’s entry an honourable mention.

She said:“From looking at the work from Ideagen, it is clear to see the depth and discovery efforts their team went to in leaving no stone unturned.

“They understood clearly the project in question, and where each brand was going to be applied. I loved their work and Ideagen were worthy finalists.”

Clare Gilliland, head of Ideagen’s Design team , said:“This was a hard but enjoyable project.

“And, although we did not win the award, to be nominated and recognised for our efforts is great testament to the skills and hard work shown by every member of our design team.”
