Tributes to GP Anne

Our front-page story last week paying tribute to tragic East Kilbride doctor Anne Meggs led to our readers doing likewise.

Robert Shankland said:“She was the family GP and friend of the family as well. Alison Lea medical centre will be a sadder place without her.”

Katie Kelly said:“Such a sad loss of an absolute delightful lady.

“My GP for the past 22 years and what a wonderful person she was. She really did take the time to help and advise people.”

Jacqueline Ogilvie said:“They don’t make doctors like Dr Meggs any more.”

And Eddie McInally posted: “This wonderful lady was a great doctor and will be sadly missed.”

Eleanor Berry said:“Sad loss. Will be missed by all her patients. Love to her family.”

Finally, Monica Allan said:“Such sad news.

“An amazing, compassionate lady who will be missed.”

Village parking

Our special feature on a new Traffic Regulation Order in Hunter Street and Montgomery Street in the Village sparked a response.

Liz McMullan said:“This street should be pedestrianised – this would create a more cafe culture in the Village and attract more visitors to the area and more customers for these traders.

“Most people who shop in the village don’t use the on-street parking at all as no one has ever known what the parking restrictions are.”
