Heritage Society The Carmunnock Heritage Society will host their annual fundraisin­g dinner in the Castlemilk Hall on Friday, November 25 at 7pm. Tickets include wine at the table and local entertainm­ent. The society works to preserve the heritage and identity of Carmunnock’s unique status as the only village within a city in Scotland. Membership is a very modest £10 per household – log onto www.carmunnock.com to find out more.

Recreation Club As Friday the 25th is the last Friday of the month, it will be the “Open Mic Jammin’ Session” in the rear lounge of the club. Entry is free and doors open at 7.30pm. You can simply come along to listen to the talented musicians or you can come along and join in. Everyone is made very welcome.

School Fair Thursday, December 1, is the date for this year’s annual primary school fair, held in the school hall. All the usual stalls will be there for you to select early Christmas gifts. It is understood that there will also be a visit from Mrs Claus, who will be standing in for Santa. Tickets are available from the school and priced at only £3 for adults, £2 for children or £6 for a family ticket.

Drama Group Panto The Carmunnock Drama Group will present their Christmas Pantomime in the Castlemilk Hall beginning on Thursday, December 1, through to Saturday, December 3. You can expect to see all the local villains and the usual characters who never fail to entertain.It is a sell-out, but a call to George Brown on 644 1178, may just magic up a cancellati­on or two.
