Support for driver

East Kilbride cabbie William Millar spoke about being falsely accused of sexual assault by a passenger.

The woman, Fiona Scanlan, admitted lying at Glasgow Sheriff Court and our readers were in full support of William.

Craig Fisher said:“There are some horrible people about. But she’ll get her comeuppance.

“Stuff the civil liberties. There should be cameras in all taxis to protect taxi drivers.

“That goes for any other people working on their own.”

Trish Lawler said:“I’ve been in Wull’s cab hundreds of times. He’s a decent bloke, always courteous.”

Margaret Carfrae posted:“Hope Mr Millar gets his life back now although it will be hard for him to forget this appalling incident.”

Dawn Griffiths replied:“Women like her make it so hard to come forward. She should be jailed, she’s ruined that poor man’s life.”

Lynda McConnell gave her backing to the cabbie and said: “Well done Willie in speaking out about this! Hopefully she will get sentenced soon and you can then try and put this behind you.”

Bogus cops strike

Readers are concerned with another incident in East Kilbride where fake police officers pulled over a motorist while in an unmarked car which was fitted with blue lights.
