Rockers’ soundtrack to reality show

- Mark Pirie

Strathaven rockers are getting ready to GLOW after being selected to soundtrack some of the reality TV show’s episodes.

Patersani, who were founded by brothers Craig and Dave Paterson, are set to have at least three of their tracks featured on the programme.

The controversial reality show hit screens last month as the Scottish answer to The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea.

Dave admits he hasn’t watched the programme yet – but thinks the amount of reaction and the high profile that it has gained so far can only benefit the band.

“We know they are using Ofelia, The Ugly Friend and the new single Something I Can Change,” said the frontman.

“It’s great to see the show keen to showcase Scottish music and give the show a local feel.

“They haven’t specified what episodes the songs will be used in but have said clips will be available online so those will be shared on the band’s social media for people to get a look at.

“I actually haven’t seen either of the full episodes out yet! I have seen the promotional clips introducing the cast but it’s definitely drawn my attention to it.

“Hopefully some others feel the same way!”

The news comes as the band prepare for the release of new track ‘Something I Can Change’ and a headline slot at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on December 30.

They will be joined by drummer Scott Kemp and bassist Colin Orr as they round off 2016.

Dave is looking forward to kicking off the New Year celebrations a night early.

He said: “We’re really buzzing for the show! It means we will be able to start the Hogmanay celebrations a night early!

“We are planning a few surprises for everyone as well so hopefully it’s a great night.”
