Festive additions for three local families
It was a new year to remember for one Lindsayfield couple.
Proud parents Jamie Nicol and Nicola Graham welcomed little Brodie into the world on NewYear’s Day.
He weighed in at six pounds and 13 ounces and delighted mum Nicola said:“Brodie is doing great. My whole family is over the moon.”
A set of Lindsayfield parents got a surprise special delivery on New Year’s Day – when their bouncing baby boy arrived two weeks early.
Proud mum and dad Jamie Nicol, 23, and Nicola Graham, 24, were thrilled when little Brodie entered the world at 9.52am on January 1, weighing in at six pounds and 13 ounces.
Nicola, who also has a five-year-old son Cian Kelly, revealed that Brodie was nearly two weeks premature, with his due date being January 10.
But the young mum told the News she is so happy to have had a New Year baby.
Nicola, a former pupil of St Andrew’s and St Bride’s High School, explained: “I still had another two weeks to go.
“I was booked in for a caesarean section at Wishaw General Hospital, but my waters broke at about 4.30am on January 1.
“I was so chuffed because I was getting really fed up, I just wanted him here.
“My whole family is over the moon, especially Brodie’s big brother Cian who is so happy to have a wee brother.”
She added: “Brodie is absolutely brilliant and doing great.”
And more proud parents were celebrating in East Kilbride over the festive season with the birth of their new babies.
Dianne and Gordon Allan, from Brancumhall, welcomed baby daughter Miryn on December 28.
The little bundle of joy arrived at 3.30pm in Wishaw General weighing 8 lbs 4 ozs.
And Calderwood mum Lynne Smith is pictured with her beautiful boy Taylor, who was born at Wishaw General on December 29, weighing in at 6 lbs 15 ozs.
