Police have this week launched a witness appeal.
A terrifying road rage incident which saw a teenager threatened with a weapon has led to a witness appeal.
The 19-year-old driver called the cops after his silver Vauxhall Astra was involved in a collision with a silver Nissan Micra at the Raith Interchange.
The incident happened at 3.15pm on Monday, December 19.
The teenager claims to have become embroiled in an altercation with the male driver of the Micra after spotting him allegedly driving dangerously at the Whirlies roundabout in East Kilbride.
It is understood he was verbally abused by the suspect – who began shouting at him through his car window.
Incredibly, the altercation carried on while both cars travelled along the East Kilbride Expressway and escalated when they reached the Raith.
Both cars then collided with one another which led the Micra motorist to leave his car and approach the teen.
It is claimed the complainer spotted a metal object in the suspect’s right sleeve which he believed to be a knife or a screwdriver.
In order to avoid coming to any harm, he drove off and later reported the incident to police.
PC Terence Riley, at East Kilbride police office, is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
