Graeme Robertson’s East Kilbride YM side produced an impressive win over Corkerhill to move into third place in the Caledonian League Division 1B.

YM started well and Corkerhill keeper Wilson had a good early save from Jordan Fletcher.

A fine flowing move of one-touch football from Scott Chaplain, Cammy McCulloch, James Cameron and Ross McDonagh ended with Craig Tocher rifling an 18-yard shot into the net after 10 minutes, giving YM the lead.

YMkee per Fraser Campbell was called into action as the home side chased an equaliser but he kept them at bay.

The visitors doubled their advantage after Paul McLean was impeded 20 yards from goal. Cammy McCulloch stepped up and sent a sumptuous free-kick into the postage -stamp corner of the net after 20 minutes.

Corkerhill pulled a goal back on the half-hour mark but YM managed to match their commitment and reach the interval 2-1 in front. 200

YM came flying out of the blocks at the start of the second half and following a move between Toc her and Cameron, wordsRoss McDonaghs core da third goal with a low shot from close range.

McDonagh then turned provider when he set up Tocher to score number infour with another hereyscorc­hing low drive from inside the box.

Wai Chung Lam scored an excellent w20in-yga2rd volley to reduce YM’s lead but it was too little, too late.

This Saturday YM entertain Balmore in league business at Hamilton Palace, kick-off 1pm.

Meanwhile, YMs Greater Glasgow Premier League side defeated league leaders Eastwood Park Mount 3-2.

Zander McMillan scored twice and Mike Carrol netted the other in an impressive victory.

Elsewhere, YM’s Scottish Amateur Football League side lost 4-3 away to Millbeg Amateurs.

In other news, YM’s Connor McCann is in the Caledonian League squad for their Inter League semi final against the Central Scottish League on Sunday.

Kick-off at Dalziel is 1pm and all at the YM wish him well.
