A look you’ll love for Valentine date

-

Love is in the air and if you’ve been hit by Cupid’s arrow then you will be bracing yourself to be swept off your feet to enjoy a night of fine romance.

If your special someone has something special planned I have a great look that will leave you glowing - and not just with the look of love.

Whether you are going out for a romantic candle lit dinner or even just a quiet drink somewhere, you can guarantee that your date won’t be able to take their eyes off you.

It’s all about the lighting. It helps set the mood and is great for flattering your fabulous look.

The trend right now is for very sculpted and colourful make up. It’s not my personal favourite because I don’t find it particularly feminine or flattering.

I love strong make up, but not all at once. i.e. eyes, lips, cheeks, contouring, strobing, lashes all very strong and all at once... it’s TOO MUCH!

So I’m going to keep this Valentine’s date look classy, feminine, sexy and very flattering.

Keep your foundation to a minimum. If you don’t have the best complexion, use concealer only where you need it. Set with a loose powder, but don’t cake it.

Sweep a warm blush on the apples of your cheeks. Don’t use anything too matte, a soft shimmer is beautiful in soft lighting. Peaches by Mac is my favourite.

A little bit of highlighter looks great in dim light but don’t overdo it. It shouldn’t be obvious.

A smokey eye will look stunning and is super easy to do. Using a dark kohl pencil, shade it across your eye lids and right around your eyes. Don’t be too precise at this point. Use your finger to gently spread it around. If it looks messy, you are doing it right.

Take your eye shadow of choice, it doesn’t have to be grey or black, but something darkish is required. The more matte the shadow, the more difficult it is to blend so try something with a more velvety texture. Using a flat shadow brush, press your shadow into the liner and continue it all around the eyes. Smooth away the rough edges using a soft blending brush.

Line the waterline of your eyes using a dark pencil and finish with lashings of mascara.

A lovely nude gloss will finish off your smouldering look for a great Valentine’ date.

Please note that I do one to one or group master classes at my studio. Email me for details.
