Your loved is part of our family

-

T & A Fyfe Limited, family-owned funeral directors, celebrated a century of service in 2012.

They have occupied their current premises at Peacock Cross since the early 60s, when they built one of Lanarkshire’s first ever dedicated service rooms.

They remain one of Hamilton’s longest-established family businesses, dating back to 1892, and one of only a handful of funeral directors in Scotland to reach back over four generations and remain in the ownership of the original family.

The bereaved can be assured that T & A Fyfe’s unique depth of knowledge and professionalism can be relied upon during such an emotional and stressful time.

Company director Lesley Blair, granddaughter of the company’s founder, said: “We are trusted and well respected in our community and believe our longevity is a direct result of our high standards and constant drive to maintain the old traditions whilst encompassing the new.

“People turn to us in the rawest moments of their grief and can be comforted in the knowledge they will receive the sole focus of our attention and care.”

Sadly, many ‘family funeral directors’ have in fact been purchased by larger funeral companies but, rather confusingly, maintain their original name.

Clients should be encouraged to take a moment to confirm their chosen funeral director’s credentials and professional qualifications before proceeding with any arrangements.

SERVICES Company director Donald Blair said: “Our directors are professionally trained and hold the nationally recognised Diploma in Funeral Directing and membership of the British Institute of Embalmers.

“We are available 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.

“Guiding each family, we will assist in arranging a complete funeral service to their exact requirements. Each family will be provided with all necessary information and choices and, most importantly, the time to assess, discuss and decide their needs and finances, either at home or at our offices at Peacock Cross.”

Funeral costs and third party expenses are naturally a huge concern for many and such costs are often misrepresented to the public.

T & A Fyfe can provide dignified arrangements suitable to each individual budget, from a very simple service to the more elaborate, providing a full written estimate.

T & A Fyfe have recently undergone a three-month renovation programme to upgrade their service room and private rest room area.

Company Director, Lesley, said “It is important to keep moving forward, ensuring we continue to provide the excellent service and care that is our benchmark.

“Part of that service is maintaining our premises to the highest standards possible and we are delighted with the results.”

CARE OF DECEASED No greater trust is placed in our hands than the care of the deceased.

An important step in the grief process is the need to be with your loved one and see that they are at peace. Rest assured your loved one will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity and for that short time become part of our family.

Here at T & A Fyfe our bespoke mortuary is located within our premises, enabling you to visit your loved one, often within a few hours of receiving them into our care.

Our private rest rooms then allow you to visit at any time and stay as long as you wish.

The directors and staff of T & A Fyfe are very proud of the service they provide and the unique and interesting history of the business.

Members of the public often hand in photographs and literature connected with Fyfe’s and the Peacock Cross area.
