There was an incredible response from East Kilbride News online readers to the story about Craig Russell’s treadmill challenge.

The personal trainer from Calderwood has overcome mental health issues. Now he is raising cash so that other people can be helped.

“Mental health is such a serious issue, especially in young men. God Bless you for doing this, raising funds and awareness.”

Fire terror for residents

Last week’s front page story about the blaze in a Calderwood block of flats interested many of you.

Neighbour Lyndsey McCartney, a taxi driver and builders were labelled heroes for alerting residents to the danger.

Allan Wallace said:“Debt of gratitude to them all. I was one of those who had to be chapped up. Much appreciate­d.”

Sarah Johnstone said:“You were amazing Lyndsey; and everyone else that helped.”
