East Kilbride YM ....... 5 Corkerhill ................. 0

East Kilbride YM moved to within a point of second place Bailliston on Saturday after another 5-0 win in the Caledonian League Division 1B.

Following last week’s five-star showing against Balmore, Corkerhill were on the receiving end of a thrashing as YM made it four wins on the bounce.

But it took YM until the second half to get going as half-time arrived goalless.

The breakthrough finally came 15 minutes into the second half when Paul McLean played a free kick to James Cameron and he teed up Craig Tocher to fire a low shot into the net.

Ricky Orr ran from inside his own half to slot past the keeper for 2-0 and Corkerhill found themselves three goals down soon after when Cameron set up Connor McCann to tap home.

McCann then turned provider for McCulloch to score number four at the far post and Fletcher notched the fifth with a 20-yard free kick late on.

The win sets things up nicely for this weekend’s clash away to rivals Baillieston, who have played two games more than YM.

Meanwhile, YM’s Greater Glasgow Premier League defeated EK Amateurs (Lanarkshire) 4-1 with goals from Jason Kerr, Ross Anderson, Murray McClure and Grant Gibson. The SAFL side lost 2-0 to Motherwell Thistle .
