Less litter is the aim

-

Nursery pupils at Greenhills Primary are helping the school to clean up their act – with a‘Litter Less’ campaign.

Youngsters helped pick up rubbish around the school grounds and enjoyed a special assembly to help them get into some good habits and keep their area clean and tidy.

The day was organised with the help of the eco-committee at the school, which includes a representative from every age group.

The kids also designed posters that will be placed around the school to warn others about the dangers of dumping your rubbish.

Greenhills Primary was one of only 29 schools across the country to receive funding from the ecoschools programme run by the Keep Scotland Beautiful group.

P7 teacher Pamela Walker, who helps out with eco-committee duties, said this was just the beginning for the campaign.

“We have a lot of things planned to do with the funding,”she said.“But the Litter Less events helped the children realise the dangers of dropping litter.”
