Autumn Club Carmunnock Autumn Club continue with their programme of entertainment with performers Mr and Mrs Martindale coming along today. They also have a special tea and quiz for members on Wednesday, March 29. The club meet every second Wednesday at 2pm in the Clason Hall. New members and guests will be made welcome. Plant Sale An important date for your diary – once again the Carmunnock Guides will be hosting “The Great Carmunnock Plant Sale”, on Saturday, May 20. Over 12,000 bedding plants were sold last year, bringing a lovely splash of colour to the village. The order forms will be available in April, when you can pre-order for collection on May 20. Gala Day At a meeting of the Carmunnock Gala Committee last Tuesday, the ballot was made to select the 2017 Gala Queen and her Retinue for this year’s Gala Day, which is on Saturday, May 13. The ballot was drawn by a non-committee member and the following names were selected. The 2017 Gala Queen will be Iona Wright. She will attended by three Ladies in Waiting – Rachel Brolly, Emily Scot and Emma Silvestro-Hay. The Queen’s Champion will be Oliver Cronin and the Page Boy will be Ben Young with Olivia Mathews as Flower Girl. It is appropriate to extend thanks to all the members of the gala committee who work so tirelessly to put on this amazing day of fun and excitement for the children. It is also a great opportunity for village folk to get involved and catch up with old friends for a good old chat. All the usual stalls and entertainment will be there on the day, so make sure you save the date in your diaries.
