Aspire aiming high

-

Proud Aspire Trampoline Club are jumping for joy after a successful start to the season.

In January the club travelled to Lasswade for both trampolining and double mini trampolining (DMT) events.

Aiden Ward, Logan Findlay and Carla Constable all entered their first trampoline competition, with Aiden and Carla winning bronze medals in NDP1 9-10 years old category.

Logan went on to collect the gold medal in NDP 1 11-12 boys.

Nicholas Smith competed in the NDP7 15-16 section and took home the gold. This also saw him qualify for the national championships in September.

All three youngsters have qualified to represent Scotland at the regional team qualifiers this month, along with Aiden’s big sister Nadine.

Emily and Lucy Wilson, Blair Roberts, Olivia Ryan and Ellie Brennan also competed but missed out on qualification.

In the DMT event Aiden Ward took the silver medal in the NDP19-10 group, Logan Findlay of Strathaven claimed gold in the NDP1 11-12s and Nicholas Smith won silver in the 15-16 age group.

The club’s next competition was at Bell’s Sports Centre in Perth this month.

In DMT Aiden, Carla, Nadine, Rachel Bell and Ellie Brennan all qualified, along with Reiss Greig.

Aiden came away with the gold and Nicholas took silver. Aiden, Rachel, Ellie, Logan, Nadine and Nicholas all cemented their places at the national championships.

In trampolining Aiden, Carla, Logan, Emily, Lucy, Blair, Ellie, Nadine and Nicky guaranteed their participation in the regional team qualifier along with Owen Hill, who had only attended for four weeks and competed at NDP4.

In NDP1 Aiden and Blair both won silver, with Logan taking gold. Nicholas also took his second gold at NDP7.

The club are looking for help with the costs of competing. Anyone who wants to help can contact coach Norrie Smith on 07941 476039.
