Accused of public drinking

Being accused of drinking alcohol in a public place has landed a Strathaven man in the dock.

Ian Macdonald, of Blackburn Mill Cottage, is alleged to have consumed Kopparberg cider on Kittoch Street in East Kilbride Village on April 19 while on bail.

Macdonald also faces an allegation that he breached a curfew order on the same date.

The 30-year-old denied the charges at Hamilton Sheriff Court and was allowed bail. Trial was set for August 18 with an interim hearing on July 24.
