Sandford Women’s Institute Sandford WI held their AGM on Wednesday, April 12 and after the business and tea, four teams competed in a race event with the president being the eventual winner. The following members were elected: President – Helen Barrie; Vice-president – Janette Robb; Treasurer – Liz Meikle; Committee – Jeanie Clark, Mary Fallow, Heather Hutchison, Anne Kerr, Margaret Kirkland, Jean McKinlay, Agnes Mackie and Margaret Meikle. Competition winners for the year were: 1st, Hamilton Salver – Janette Robb; 2nd, McIntyre Rosebowl – Agnes Mackie; 3rd, Drama Group Trophy – Margaret Jackson. Competition winners for the evening were: Bowl of Spring Bulbs – 1st, Agnes Mackie; 2nd Janette Robb. Syllabus Suggestion – 1st Agnes Mackie; 2nd Janette Robb; 3rd, Margaret Bergin. Members were reminded that there are still a few seats available for the trip to Eastriggs and Dumfries on Saturday, August 26.
