Superhero fun for young and old alike
number one Jack Sparrow lookalike – to show off the colourful costumes these events are known for.
Also judging the competition for Under-16s and those over the age of 16 will be 2000 AD artist Tom Foster, Iron Man, Davy Jones and Asylumstar.
Tom will be taking a still life cosplay drawing class and a Marvel movie quiz will be taking place to test your comic book knowledge.
Superhero bookbug will also be on offer for tots up to the age of four.
Comic Con started in America and the popular comic book and arts conventions have spread throughout the globe with their mix of special guests and themed characters.
Organiser Ian Bonar is looking forward to taking their ever-expanding event to East Kilbride town centre for the first time.
He said: “The BGCCF run eight events per year in Glasgow city centre and this the first we have ventured out to East Kilbride Shopping Centre so we’re excited to bring the event there.
“We’ll be running some workshops and panels through the day and all ages are welcome.”
In the main library, between 10.15 and 11am, visitors can take part in the MARVELous Masks craft session (£1.55 per child).
Superhero Bookbug for up to four years (free) runs from 11am to 11.30am.
The Kids Cosplay competition and photos (free) will be held from 11.30am to 12noon.
A wizarding world of fun for ages five and over (£1.55 per child) is from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
From 1.30pm to 2.15pm 2000 AD artist Tom Foster will take the Still Life Cosplay Drawing Class (free).
And from 2.30pm to 3.30pm will be the Marvel Movie Quiz (free).
Kids can enrol in the Superhero Academy from 3.30pm to 4.30pm where they can make their own cape and mask and have fun as a superhero (£1.55 per child).
And the Cosplay competition (free) will run from 4.30pm to 5pm.
