East Kilbride FC’s U20s booked their spot in the semi-final of the Knock-out Cup after a 4-2 penalty shootout win at K-Park on Friday night.

Not even 120 minutes of football could not separate the teams as the game finished 1-1 after extra-time.

But in the shootout Kieran Bell saved twice for Kilby to be the hero with Gavin Millar netting the winning penalty.

Liam Craig had given EK a first half lead, but Colts equalised with 10 minutes remaining to force extra time.

Millar and Michael Anderson linked up on 35 minutes to set up Liam Craig, who made no mistake from 16-yards to net his 43rd goal of the season.

Kilby continued to dominate after the break with Millar coming close twice and Anderson hitting the woodwork, but they could not find the elusive second goal.

The failure to kill off the game came back to bite EK when Devine slid the ball past Bell to make it 1-1 late on.

Colts were reduced to 10-men in the 110th minute when Shields was dismissed for kicking out at Millar but EK could not make the extra man count.

There was an early boost in the shootout for Colts when Giles saved from Craig.

But 16-year old Bell saved twice in between successful Kilby conversions from Jack Harrison, Blair Kidd and Anderson to set it up for Millar to fire home his kick and settle it for the Kilby kids.
