Midweek fixtures stretched EKYM’s teams to the limit but the SAFL and GGPL sides both recorded victories.

Last Tuesday evening the GGPL side consolidated their lead at the top of their Spring Cup section with a 4-1 victory at Crookston Castle with a Connor McCann double and strikes from. Jack Brown and Ross McDonagh.

The following night the SAFL side moved into second spot in the league with a 2-1 victory at Port Glasgow with Barry Kelly and Darren Litterick on the score sheet.

Meanwhile, on Saturday YM’s Caledonian side travelled to Cambusbarron for a Presidents Cup fixture and secured second place in their section with a 4-3 victory.

McCann opened the scoring after just 13 seconds after turning home a rebound from a James Cameron strike.

The hosts equalised in the 10th minute but Ross McDonagh restored YM’s lead before half time.

Early in the second half McCann and Cameron both scored to increase YM’s lead to 4-1. In a thrilling end to the game the home side scored twice but YM held on to secure victory.

Tomorrow (Thursday) YM play Rhu Amateurs in the Presidents Cup at Dalziel Sports Club, Carfin with an 8pm kick off and on Saturday YM have a huge fixture when they can claim a league play off spot if they do not lose to Glasgow University at Hamilton Palace. Kick off is 3pm.
