Striker’s spitting claim

-

Chris Angus accused East Kilbride defender Fabio Capuano of spitting on him during the first leg of the fiery League Two play-off semi-final.

And the Buckie Thistle hitman insists the Highland League side will go into the decider at K-Park this weekend and finish the job.

Angus scored the opener on Saturday and won the penalty that Sam Urquhart converted before Kilby mounted a comeback.

But the Jags striker claims he was spat on during the ill-tempered match in Moray.

Angus said:“I got spat on twice by their right-back. It’s disgusting, there’s no need for that in the game.

“One of their players saw it and apologised to me but it’s embarrassing. It happened just after the penalty. He was saying I dived but his friend said he pulled me back.

“We weren’t at the races. We wasted a two-goal lead and threw it away.

“If East Kilbride were in the Highland League they’d be a top-four team but wouldn’t win the league. They have some good players and came back from 2-0 down, so they’re a good team in the Lowland League but not as good as us.

“We are gutted to lose a two-goal advantage but I’m 100 per cent confident we’ll be beat them.”

Angus added: “You could see it was an ill-tempered last five minutes but there’s a lot at stake for both teams.”
