Kids go bonkers on the Kool Ride
Kirktonholme’s Murron wins popular radio contest
Kirktonholme Primary pupil Murron Anderson was the coolest kid in class this week.
For she won a popular competition – Clyde 1’s Kool Ride to School.
The six-year-old West Mains girl was the winner of the station’s competition last Thursday.
Murron was thrilled to bag her and 16 of her classmates a lift to school in the famous Bonkers Bus after telling a joke on air.
The ecstatic P2 pupil asked breakfast show host George Bowie: ‘Why did the boy take a ladder to school? Because he wanted to go to high school!’
Murron and her friends jumped aboard the party bus from her home in Falkland Drive and rode around town where everyone had a fantastic time singing and dancing before school began.
Murron told the News: “It was absolutely amazing. I loved dancing and the pink fizz!”
Delighted mum Donna added: “Clyde 1 were brilliant.
“Amber Livingstone [Clyde 1 presenter] was great with the kids and they all had an absolutely fabulous time.
“I’m so proud of Murron being brave enough to go on the radio to win the Bonkers Bus.
“Her and her friends had a blast.”
Presenter Amber tweeted a video of all the excited Kirktonholme Primary kids waiting on the Bonkers Bus and wrote: “Thank you Kirktonholme Primary in East Kilbride for the warm welcome for @1025Clyde1 Kool Ride 2 School with @ CVLimos Bonkers Bus!”
