Public urgedto geton board
Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire (VASLan) is calling on East Kilbride and Avondale folk to get on board with Volunteers’ Week 2017 – and join their treasure trail.
With volunteering recently described as the ‘golden thread’ that connects communities, this volunteers’ week – which runs from June 1 to June 7 – VASLan’s pirate theme aims to show how much South Lanarkshire treasures its volunteers.
VASLan will be publishing treasure trail maps for each area of the county.
The treasure trail maps will pinpoint voluntary organisations willing to have “open doors” during volunteers’ week so people can drop in and find out a bit about their service, volunteering opportunities and, of course, collect some bounty to boot.
Around 30 organisations have already signed up to participate in the treasure trail in the hope that everyone will get involved with volunteering that threads throughout South Lanarkshire.
Visit www.vaslan.org.uk/ volunteersweek2017 which will lead you to the treasure maps for each area.
You can also receive downloadable PDF maps by emailing awards@vaslan. org.uk
