DUNCANRIG
Duncanrig Secondary’s Young Enterprise Scotland company have made it to the end of a successful year running their own business.
The team worked tirelessly after school and at weekends to produce and sell seasonal gifts within the school and at local trade fayres.
As a social enterprise, their goal was to benefit the local community.
And that they did when they presented a cheque to Mossneuk Primary School for over £400.
This will be put to good use by Mossneuk Primary who are planning to purchase sports equipment for pupils.
It has been a very busy year for the group who have, as well as producing and selling their products,
recently attempted the Young Enterprise Scotland exam (accredited by Strathclyde University), completed a company report including financial accounts, designed a trade stand and participated in the end-ofyear competition for the Lanarkshire finals.
A Duncanrig Secondary spokesperson: “The group have worked extremely hard voluntarily in their own time all year.
“Congratulations go to Kyle Mair (managing director), Greg Kelly (assistant director), Kieran Dhillon (admin and IT), Liam Lawson (marketing), Rhys McNicol (graphic design), Sam Forbes (operations), Rory Stark (finance and accounts), Benjamin Wylie (market research) and Andrew Burnett (graphic design).”
