Troutto thefore atCarron Valley

-

A trip to Carron Valley Fishery last Sunday proved to East Kilbride Angling Club that the great Scottish weather can be fickle, with grey overcast skies breaking up to a very pleasant day of broken sunshine.

It was a pleasure to see so many brown trout showing up in the results and a few Powan also.

But the big problem was the wind, which was constant with a strength that felt more than the forecast of 15 18mph at times.

Disappointingly, there was very little in the way of a rise and only the odd fish was seen to break the surface.

The winner on the day was guest G Dempter with 14 rainbow trouts, while club member Willie won the best catch of all the members.

The club now moves on to the bus outing for May with a trip to Aberfeldy on the River Tay on Sunday, May 28.

Following that there will be an outing to Harelaw in early June.

This is a bank outing so look out the waders.
