Mixed fortunes for YM

-

It was a weekend of mixed emotions for East Kilbride YM with the Scottish Amateur side reaching a cup final and the Caledonian team crashing out of the Presidents Cup at the quarter-final stage.

First up, Martin Murphy’s SAFL side reached the final of the Hall Cup as they defeated Paisley Amateurs 4-1 in the semi final with Sean Kelly, Ryan Kelly, Scott Campbell and Garry O’Hanlon scoring.

They progress to the final against Rossvale Amateurs tomorrow night at Vale of Clyde’s ground at 7pm.

Meanwhile, YM’s Caledonian side lost 3-1 at Stenhousemuir in the Presidents Cup.

Craig Tocher scored early on to give YM the lead in the match but they could not hold out.

On the plus side YM congratulate Ross McDonagh who is the top goal scorer in Caledonian League 1B with 21 league goals .

In other news, there is plenty going on for YM as they continue planning their Friendly Old Crocks Tournament at Kirktonholme Park on June 11.

The following weekend they travel to Ballerup to take part in a European Football Tournament and then return for the YM Player of Year Dinner, which brings the curtain down on a busy season with Frank McAvennie and John Ghaghan entertaining the guests .

There are a few tickets left and can be ordered from any YM member.
