EK U20s run out winners

-

East Kilbride FC under-20s continued their fine run of form with an impressive win over Lothian Tistle Hutchison Vale at Riccarton on Friday night.

A first half Liam Craig double made it 18 wins in a row for the newly-crowned U20 Lowland League Champions as a fantastic season nears the end.

With the league having been wrapped up the previous week, EK gave U20 debuts to U-17 trio Kyle Caig, Ross McGurk and Declan Percy.

Craig gave Kilby the lead on 25 minutes, driving in from the left wing and finding the net with a low finish.

The skipper doubled the lead 10 minutes later with an excellent finish after great wide play from Caig, to claim his 47th goal of the season.

Craig Melrose did well in the Kilby goal with a string of fine saves and Caig almost added a third late in the match for Kilby, but was denied by excellent goalkeeping from Gibb in the LTHV goal.

The EK youngsters will receive the league trophy this week.
