A great big thank you to East Kilbride committee

-

This is the 20th year of Relay for Life in East Kilbride.

And Cancer Research UK today want to say a huge thank you to the committee for keeping the fundraising event going in the town.

Sue Bell and her team, The Suepremes, are the longest-standing and have been involved in the relay for 10 years.

Sue’s son Alex is co-chair of the 2017 Relay for Life alongside friend Neil Macphee.

The Suepremes have raised over £100,000 for Cancer Research UK and the amount generated by East Kilbride Relay for Life will be revealed at their celebration night soon.

A Cancer Research UK spokesperson said: “We are looking forward to what promises to be a wonderful Relay for Life event in East Kilbride this Friday and Saturday.

“But events like these are only possible thanks to the dedication of every committee member, team participant, survivor and carer that takes part. On behalf of the charity, we want to show our appreciation of their tremendous efforts to support our life-saving research.”

Folk in East Kilbride and Avondale are being invited to attend Saturday’s gala day with a number of attractions for those young and old.

There will be inflatables, zumba, tombolas, raffles, bottle stall, cake and candy, car wash, side stalls, dance display, team games and a conga!

Live music will be performed throughout the day – feel free to pop along and do your bit to beat cancer.
