New talent search is on with £3500 up for grabs
One of the most fiercely contested competitions in Lanarkshire is coming back.
The Commercial Hotel’s famous Wishaw’s Got Talent contest begins on July 7. There will be a packed 11 weeks where the panel will whittle down the numbers to the grand finale on September 22 at the hotel on Main Street. Expect a lot of drama and tears as the competition heats up. Wishaw has got bags of talent, and The Commercial Hotel are urging people to brush up their skills, whether it’s singing, dancing, telling jokes, hulahooping, playing the spoons,
or creating a bit of magic.
With the prize money standing at a whooping £3500 – you could be doing a disappearing act with all that cash.
This year is also an extra special one for The Commercial Hotel as it’s getting ready to celebrate its 10th birthday, and in celebration of this momentous year, the winning pot is the highest it’s ever been.
Adele Montgomery, manager of The Commercial Hotel , said she is looking forward to welcoming the popular competition back to the town.
She said: “Our punters seem to love a contest and each event we’ve put on seems to be more popular than the other. These events create a real buzz and a great atmosphere for our customers. We all love being part of it. “Over the years we’ve saw some amazing talent grace our stages and I hope we see the same again this year.
“We’ve got a huge amount of money to give away so I would urge people to come out and take part.
All you need to do is impress the judges and you could be walking away thousands of pounds richer.”
In 2015, The Commercial Hotel staged their very own X Factor contest and gave away a whopping £3500 to talented finalists.
Wishaw duo Dan and Lynn were crowned winners and walked away with £1500 after they wowed the crowds with a show-stopping performance.
Runners-up were Amanda Bogle, who was awarded £500, and Ryan Hardie, who won £250. There was also prize money for the winners of the heats.
