Man exposed himself to a 14-year-old girl
“The accused said he liked the 14-year-old then stood up and dropped his trousers and underwear and revealed himself to the complainer.
“She was shocked and her friend entered the room to check on her and saw the accused standing in the manner described.
“He quickly pulled his trousers up and left the room but the complainer was distressed.
“She eventually returned home having consumed quite a lot of alcohol.”
Kennedy’s defence lawyer told the court that all parties had been within the flat willingly and had been consuming alcohol.
He went on to say his client had taken drugs which he thought was cocaine and cannabis — but transpired to be LSD — and remembered little about the evening.
The lawyer added: “My client is appalled by what he has heard and admitted the offence straight away, accepting his guilt unequivocally.
“The mother of the complainer was advised by other parents that something had taken place and uniformed police were called to the complainer’s address a few days later because of an exceptionally heated argument between them.
“It was then the complainer’s mother invited her daughter to tell police what had happened.”
Sentence was deferred on Kennedy until August 1 and he was remanded in custody and placed on the sex offenders’ register in the interim.
