Community Council Carmunnock Community Council’s monthly meeting, which is normally held on the first Monday of the month, was postponed for the month of July and will now take place on Monday, August 7 at 7pm in Castlemilk Hall. The public can attend and raise any issues which are of concern to residents of the village.
Horticultural Society Carmunnock Horty Society is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year so the annual flower show, which will be held on Saturday, August 26, in the Castlemilk Hall, will be rather special. The committee are looking for any old photographs from times gone by or, in fact, any item which you think may be useful in marking the occasion. Please contact the chairman John Kinloch on (0141) 644 1215. This is now a good time to get your entries prepared for all the categories as competition is always very keen. Heritage Society Carmunnock Heri- tage Society, formally known as Carmunnock Preservation Society, held their annual fundraising garden party on June 25 and enjoyed fine weather and a very good turnout. Food was plentiful as was the wine and everyone appeared to enjoy another opportunity to get together for a good old natter. Life membership of the society is £10 per household and the organisation continues to look after the many historical landmarks which remain within the village. To join the society, you can call the secretary on (0141) 644 3166.
