Plaza Tower hotel plans
Proposals have been submitted to South Lanarkshire Council to transform part of the Plaza Tower into a hotel.
A planning application from the company EK Devco Limited would see a 102-bedroom hotel in the heart of the town centre.
The proposals are to change floors 8,9,10 and 12 from their current office use into hotel accommodation.
There would also be a bar and restaurant on the site.
It comes after planning permission was granted in principle for an 80-bedroom hotel on vacant land in Peel Park and hotel giant Travelodge said they were looking to expand in the town.
There is no confirmation as yet which hotel chain would move into the Plaza if the proposals are given the green light by the council.
