Former EK boss in unpaid bonus claim
Former East Kilbride FC boss Martin Lauchlan is threatening legal action against the club over unpaid bonuses of £20,000.
The 36-year-old won the Lowland League title with Kilby last season but missed out on promotion to the Scottish Professional Football League after losing a play-off with Cowdenbeath on a penalty shootout.
Last week Lauchlan claimed he is still due bonuses for his achievements at K-Park last season.
In a statement, he said: “I can confirm I have instructed an employment solicitor with a view to raising legal proceedings against East Kilbride FC for breach of contract arising from non-payment of sums I contend are owed to me.
“My solicitor is currently in touch with the club and I hope that matters are capable of being resolved otherwise I have no choice but to resort to litigation in order to protect my position.”
A spokesman for East Kilbride FC said: “If we receive any legal contact from Mr Lauchlan we will reply appropriately.”
Lauchlan has taken on Scottish PFA employment lawyer Margaret Gribbon to fight his case.
