EK ladies keep their royal appointment

A group of East Kilbride women enjoyed a right royal day out.

Community stalwart Avril Anderson, Liz White and Odette Fraser of Calderglen High School, East Kilbride East councillor Gladys Miller and her mother-in-law Hilda Ferguson attended the Queen’s garden party at Holyroodhouse.

Avril works alongside Calderglen High headteacher Ms White and her depute Ms Fraser as part of the Befrienders’ scheme, which sees pupils visiting older residents.

She said: “It was a fabulous day and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.”
