Community council Secretary to contact police sergeant to establish if further speed observatio­ns can be undertaken on Peel Road at minirounda­bouts. Residents remain concerned about speeding and illegal driving on the road. Proposal of applicatio­n notice: Eaglesham Road. This relates to a new four-arm roundabout in Jackton. No one present attended the exhibition at the Bruce Hotel. Developers were invited to attend this meeting to give a presentati­on but did not respond. Next step: wait for planning applicatio­n to be lodged in due course. Objections can be submitted at this stage. Decision notice: land north of Eaglesham Road, Jackton. This relates to land next to Ocein Dr, owned by a family trust. Planning was originally not granted by SLC. They wanted the developer to contribute to the CGA infrastruc­ture costs. Following an appeal, the reporter has ruled the developer does not need to make a contributi­on and planning consent is now approved. May have implicatio­ns for viability of CGA. Decision notice: Cala Management Ltd, 27 houses, Peel Road. Planning consent now approved. Residents from Baroness Court joined the meeting and said objection letters had been sent but had been sent to the wrong address. They are concerned over safety, increased throughput of traffic, children playing in a cul-de-sac with no pavements. There are also insufficie­nt allocated parking spaces. Consultati­on on South Lanarkshir­e local developmen­t plan 2 supplement­ary sites submitted through the MIR process. 32 additional sites have been considered, three within the Jackton and Thorntonha­ll area: Waterfoot Road, Ocein Drive, Hayhill Road. None have the support of SLC. JTCC have to source an alternativ­e website provider due to cost. As a result it will take time to rebuild. The new website is at www.jackthorn.org. Mr Stewart felt the whole community would benefit from hearing more about dealing with dementia. Further informatio­n awaited following initial presentati­ons in June. Mr Stewart advised the community council liason officer Margaret McDougall has returned to work following a serious health scare. 2017 accounts were circulated and approval sought for the chairman and treasurer to sign. Proposed Sandy McEwan, seconded – Harry McKinnon Community path grant - applicatio­n submitted, outcome awaited. Waiting restrictio­n – Barbana Road, to improve road safety and the amenity of the area. 18 Wellknowe Ave – renewal of planning consent EK/13/0316 – approved. Erection of single storey rear extension. 5 Bowmore Crescent – no objections. It was highlighte­d that there is no lighting on Ardbeg Lane as you approach Braehead Road, which is considered dangerous. Secretary to raise with SLC.
