Young Paul McLean bounced his way to victory in national spacehopper championship heats at a Butlins Holiday Centre in Somerset.

Paul, 12, who was a pupil at Duncanrig Secondary, was at the holiday centre in Minehead with his mum and dad, Irene and Hugh, along with brothers Steven and Gary.

And with any luck, he was set to bounce all the way to the finals.

Four overseas industrial companies came to East Kilbride.

They were Truck Rental Ltd, Gray Tool Company (Europe) Ltd, Molene Chemie and Haraeus Quartz Fused Products.

It brought the total number of foreign companies in the town to a grand total of 34.
